Responsibilities and deliverables


Role: Data Protection Officer (PII Compliance). Location: Remote. Rate: $40 – $70/hr. Type: Contract. Openings: 20. Responsibilities: - Lead implementation of PII compliance frameworks and data protection protocols. - Analyze data flows to identify and mitigate privacy and re-identification risks. - Develop and maintain data privacy policies and compliance standards. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data governance and security practices. - Deliver training and guidance on handling sensitive information. - Act as the point of contact for data privacy incidents and investigations. - Maintain records to support regulatory reporting and audits. Requirements: - 2+ years of experience in PII compliance / data privacy roles. - Strong knowledge of GDPR and global data protection standards. - Experience in data management and risk mitigation strategies. - Ability to identify non-obvious PII and structural identifiability risks. - Excellent communication and analytical skills. - High attention to detail and ability to balance data utility versus compliance. Bonus Points: - Background in finance, healthcare, or corporate governance. - Familiarity with international privacy regulations beyond GDPR. - Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar.
