Responsibilities and deliverables

We are looking for a seasoned Python + TypeScript Developer to join an exciting remote contract opportunity focused on AI training initiatives and large-scale code modernization projects. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in production environments, codebase migrations, refactoring, and multi-language development ecosystems. Responsibilities: - Leading production-level development and refactoring across Python and TypeScript codebases. - Driving codebase migrations, rewrites, and modernization initiatives. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support AI training and human data refinement workflows. - Ensuring clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. - Troubleshooting and resolving complex cross-stack technical challenges. - Participating in code reviews and code quality improvements. Requirements: - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. - Advanced hands-on expertise in Python and TypeScript. - Proven experience with large-scale migrations, rewrites, or modernization projects. - Strong understanding of software engineering best practices. - Experience supporting AI training, data refinement, or similar workflows. - Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills. - Fluent English. - Availability for 6+ hours overlap with Eastern Time. Nice to have: - Experience working in multi-language codebases. - Exposure to AI / machine learning data workflows. - Familiarity with secure and scalable cloud architectures. Rate: $30–$100/hour.
