Hiring: Computational CAD Engineer (OpenSCAD) – Remote. Our client is looking for experienced Computational CAD Engineers with strong OpenSCAD expertise to help shape the future of AI-driven design systems. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your advanced scripting and computational modeling skills to build high-quality parametric CAD models that will support next-generation AI training workflows. Position: Computational CAD Engineer (OpenSCAD). Location: Remote. Job Type: Contract. Compensation: $40–$120/hour. What You’ll Be Doing: - Develop, optimize, and document OpenSCAD scripts for simple and complex CAD models. - Transform conceptual ideas and sketches into production-ready 2D and 3D designs. - Use advanced OpenSCAD capabilities including boolean operations, list comprehensions, and flow control. - Create innovative geometries using techniques such as linear_extrude, rotate_extrude, and minkowski. - Build complex 3D structures from 2D shapes and efficiently position primitives within design spaces. - Design reusable and repeatable components using loops, nesting, and modular scripting approaches. - Collaborate closely with AI and data teams to explain modeling logic, syntax, and design workflows. What We’re Looking For: - Deep hands-on experience with OpenSCAD (required). - Strong understanding of OpenSCAD syntax, operators, constants, modifier characters, and special variables. - Expertise in 2D/3D object creation, transformations, and boolean operations. - Experience using lists, list comprehensions, flow control, and type test functions. - Strong understanding of OpenSCAD workflows and interface. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to iterate quickly from concept to final production-ready designs with a focus on code clarity and precision. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with AI training data or automation workflows. - Familiarity integrating OpenSCAD outputs into larger engineering or data pipelines. - Strong documentation skills and a portfolio showcasing OpenSCAD projects.
