About the Client:
Our client is a California-based employment defense law firm that represents businesses in workplace litigation. This is a lean practice where deadlines are critical, filings are frequent, and the attorney relies heavily on proactive, detail-oriented support. The right candidate will work directly with the lead litigator, gaining hands-on exposure to case management and courtroom preparation, with meaningful opportunities to expand into a full-time role.

Role Requirements:
- Must have experience working in litigation law (ideally in the U.S.).
- Must speak and write fluent English.
- Strong grammar, proofreading, and punctuation skills.
- Familiarity with CA state court websites, including reservation systems.
- Knowledge of court and civil-litigation deadlines.
- Experience in filing pleadings in state courts, including e-filing systems.
- Experience working in a paperless case/document management system (Clio).
- Expert in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Pro.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage case files in an organized manner within the electronic document management platform (Clio).
- Prepare initial drafts of correspondence, reports, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
- Calendar and track litigation deadlines; ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Create, file, and serve pleadings and discovery, including e-filing and e-service.
- Coordinate and schedule court hearings, depositions, mediations, and other events.
- Review and summarize documents, including discovery responses and deposition transcripts.
