Requirements and responsibilities

Ready to become the senior hand who ensures the work actually goes out—taking full ownership of the technical execution and quality for high-volume email programs supporting the nation’s leading trade associations and professional societies? 🚀 I am Cata Salcedo, a Global Talent Consultant who connects top-tier talent with great companies. My model consists of acting as the strategic bridge between you and my clients, ensuring every process is Data-Driven, AI-leveraged, Skills-Based, and Human-Enjoyed. In this job, the client is: Vertex Communication Group. INITIAL RECRUITING PROCESS ⏳ 1. Application through Torre: Create your profile, your genome, answer the screening questions and we will be able to check your matching score with the position. 2. Specialized Human Decision: I will review your application, your matching score and your profile alignment to provide you with an update within 72 business hours. 3. Client’s Internal Process: If you are an initial match, I will present your process to Equation for them to decide if they want to move forward. Each company's process can vary, and I'll guide you and be with you in every step! CLIENT'S RECRUITING PROCESS 🧩 1st Round: Test Gorilla Assessments and Take-Home Project 2nd Round: Four individual interviews with the Hiring Managers 3rd Round: Two individual interviews with External Validators ABOUT THE HIRING COMPANY 🧬 Vertex Communication Group is a B2B email marketing firm with 23 years of experience running complex, high-volume programs for trade associations, professional societies, and membership organizations. They own the full stack: strategy, production, ESP management, data operations, and reporting. They are fully remote, deliberately lean, and running AI-assisted production workflows in production, not as a pilot program, but as the way they actually work. A small team doing big-program work. That only holds up when the production side is airtight. Joining Vertex means your work is visible and your quality standards shape the whole operation. You will not be buried in a queue. You will matter from week one. THE POSITION 🫆 • Your Mission: To be the senior hand in their production work. You own the quality of what gets built and deployed across multiple client programs: emails, journeys, audiences, segmentation, and the technical execution underneath all of it. When a deadline is tight, when something breaks before a send, when a complex setup needs a second set of expert eyes, that is you. • Your Role: Senior Email Production Specialist • Strategic Anchor: Ensuring the work actually goes out and taking that responsibility seriously. You are a true peer to their existing Production Specialist, raising the ceiling of what their production team can do by ensuring execution is airtight and flawless when a deadline is tight or a complex setup needs expert eyes. • Success Definition: You deliver impact through the speed, precision, and flawless execution with which you build and deploy complex email programs, reporting directly to their Senior Developer and IT Lead. You are a senior hand who provides expert eyes on ESP systems and ensures that intricate audience logic is translated into airtight technical execution that their Senior Client & Program Leads trust and rely on for every send. ⚙️ What You’ll Be Doing • Own Production: Build, QA, schedule, and deploy emails and journeys across a portfolio of client programs, end-to-end. Manage recurring sends with zero tolerance for deployment errors; you catch the problem, not the client. Troubleshoot in-platform when things break: rendering issues, automation failures, data extension errors, and deliverability concerns. Turn briefs into clean, production-ready builds, ask the questions before you start, not after. • Go Deep in ESPs: Work inside client ESPs to execute campaigns, primarily Salesforce Marketing Cloud and iPost, with others depending on the client. Build and maintain audiences, data extensions, and segmentation logic that runs reliably at production scale. Configure automations, journeys, and triggered sends from brief to deploy. Edit HTML and CSS in templates to fix rendering issues, update content, or apply client-specific customization. • Use AI Like You Mean It: Use AI tools across your workflow to produce faster and with fewer errors: copy review, HTML generation, QA checklists, and audience logic drafting. Operate Vertex's internal AI production tooling as a primary user and help improve it through real feedback. Push yourself to become more AI-fluent every month, because this is how they operate and how this role grows. • Raise the Quality Bar: Enforce quality standards on every send: links, rendering, audience verification, subject lines, and offer accuracy. Document build patterns and technical procedures so the team runs on shared standards rather than tribal knowledge. Spot workflow inefficiencies and fix them; standardize, simplify, or automate what does not need to be manual. 🧠 What We’re Looking For Must-have: ● 5+ years of hands-on email production experience at a senior level — real programs, real volume, real complexity. ● Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one major ESP (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, iPost, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Marketo, Braze, or Eloqua) — you have built, configured, troubleshot, and deployed inside the platform, not just observed it. ● Comfortable writing, reading and editing HTML and CSS for email; you can identify and fix a rendering issue yourself. ● Strong fundamentals in audience logic, segmentation, data extensions, and email deliverability. ● Active, current use of AI tools in your professional work. (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) You do not need to be a power user yet, but you need to be genuinely hungry to become one. ● Strong written communication. You document your work, explain your decisions, and write clearly to teammates and clients. ● Remote discipline across multiple active programs; you manage your own time and deadlines. ● Attention to detail in everything. For example, if you have read this far, we would love for you to tell us in your video answer what 32,311 x 5,672 is. Nice-to-have: ● Experience across multiple ESPs. Producers who can move between systems are worth their weight. ● Salesforce Marketing Cloud or iPost depth specifically. ● AMPScript or other scripting languages for dynamic content and personalization. ● SQL for data extension management, segmentation, or reporting queries. ● Agency or multi-client production background. ● Deeper AI workflow experience: structured prompting, multi-step automation, custom GPTs or agents. ● Background in B2B associations, membership organizations, or professional publishers. ● Familiarity with Wrike, Monday.com, or equivalent project management tools. 💎 What We Offer ● Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 base (full-time equivalent), commensurate with experience, plus full benefits. ● Annual bonus eligibility starts in year two alongside the rest of the senior team. ● Type of Contract: W-2 employment, 100% remote. Full-time with a 90 days part-time initial period. • Health, Dental & Vision — Full employee health coverage paid by the company • Home office setup including laptop, mouse, keyboard, monitor. • 401(k) with Company Contribution — Safe harbor plan with company contributions whether you contribute or not • Unlimited PTO — Take the time you need, when you need it • Fully Remote — Work from anywhere in the US, no return-to-office hidden agenda • Team Meet-Ups — Periodic in-person gatherings throughout the year to connect, plan, and have fun • Real Impact, Small Team — Your work is visible from day one and shapes how we operate ⏱️ How We Hire This role starts as a part-time engagement (20–32 hrs/week) for the first 90 days, with a clear path to full-time. It is not a freelance gig, as we want someone serious about growing with us. The intro period gives both sides a chance to confirm a good fit before committing. If it is obvious sooner, we move faster. 🛠️ What You’ll Need ● Availability: Full-time dedication from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central (EST), Monday through Friday. The initial schedule for the first 90 days as a part-time position up to 32 hrs/week will be aligned on with each candidate. ● Work Setup: Access to reliable high-speed internet, and a dedicated quiet workspace suitable for focused work and client video calls.
