Engineering Accomplishments:
1) Built out device to cloud to dashboard streaming IoT data pipeline, which included configuration driven components to mirror device behavior with dashboard components. This was used to deliver a MVP for an AI driven AdTech startup.
2) Workflow to clean, process and stitch together information from 11 discrete datasets to discover true building ownership, amongst other datapoints, for a commercial real estate startup. This workflow replaced several weeks of Analyst time to deliver timely insights for Commercial Real Estate Brokers.
Leadership accomplishments:
1) During the uncertainty of an acquisition, my engineering organization plummeted towards very low velocity. I addressed this with the team with two angles. One, empathizing, that I was experiencing the same uncertainty. Two, an entreatment, to remain professional and engaged with the work in front of us, as we don't know the future, what we take away from this time the only thing in our control. We can engage or we can withdraw. Fortunately, the engineers chose to engage, and productivity was restored, velocity increased over 400%.
2) A startup was struggling with a very long Lead Time, resulting from the classic condition of Sales reaching out to Engineers directly with feature requests to close deals. As a consequence, Sales could only promise clients their functional system many months out, and Engineering was always working on promises made many months ago. By embedding myself in the Sales and Customer Success process, I became the defacto Product Owner, and was able to streamline the promises and the work to reduce the Lead Time by 80%, from 6-9 months to 2-3 weeks.
