About Us
Sniffspot is the Airbnb for dog parks. We enable anyone to rent land by the hour as a safe and private dog park.
Dogs evolved in a world where they could run free, but modern life rarely gives them that freedom. As a result, dogs today face challenges like obesity, reactivity, and anxiety. Sniffspot exists to change that by reconnecting dogs with their natural instincts, helping them live happier and healthier lives.
We’re a marketplace where guests (dog parents) rent spots (land) from hosts (landowners) by the hour.
What It’s Like to Work at Sniffspot
Sniffspot is an early-stage, US-based startup with a small, global, fully remote team. You’ll be joining a close-knit group that’s building the foundation of the company. You’ll have major impact on both our product direction and engineering culture.
We operate primarily asynchronously, giving you control over your focus time, while also participating in a daily stand-up and overlapping hours with our operations in UTC+3. When issues arise post-release, we trust our team to jump in and collaborate in real time to resolve them quickly, sometimes during US hours.

Our engineers are driven by a continuous improvement mindset, always exploring new tools and practices that improve performance, cost, and operability. We communicate trade-offs transparently, ensuring decisions are well understood and open to feedback.

You Will
* Deliver high-quality web applications using modern frameworks.
* Work jointly with our mobile app frontend developer and backend developers to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable applications.
* Participate in the product development process from start to finish, helping scope projects, measuring their success, and iterating based on user feedback.
* Collaborate across design, product, and engineering to build features that scale.
* Ensure smooth rollouts and monitor feature impact post-launch.
* Collaborate effectively with a global, remote engineering team.
We’re Looking for Someone Who Has
* 5+ years of development experience, ideally across both frontend and backend.
* Strong experience with Ruby on Rails and ReactJS.
* Advanced proficiency in React Native.
* Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience with cloud deployment and infrastructure: GitLab CI, Docker, Heroku, AWS (RDS Postgres, S3, Lambda, ECS, CloudFront).
* Expertise in mobile architecture, performance optimization, and platform-specific development (iOS and Android). Familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and app store submission processes.
* Availability to work mostly asynchronously, with overlapping hours in UTC+3 for collaboration and a mandatory daily stand-up.
* Comfort collaborating directly with founders, product leads, and other stakeholders.
* Pride in shepherding projects from ideation to completion, including partnering with operations to roll out changes that affect their workflows.
* A habit of seeking out feedback from users and advocating empathetically for them throughout product development.
* Value in feedback and open collaboration, being as comfortable reviewing others’ work as having your own reviewed.
* Startup experience preferred.
