Onboarding New Contributors and Documentation Improvements
• Develop and oversee onboarding process for new contributors
• Conduct an audit of existing documentation available for contributors to identify gaps
• Write new and improve existing documentation
• Develop user stories and write user documentation built around these stories. Contributor Recruiting
• Encourage people to engage with the project and encourage people who are already peripherally engaged (e.g. via IRC/Matrix/Twitter) to get actively involved, with a focus on underrepresented groups
• Contribute content and/or structural changes to the website to achieve the above goals (not necessary to do the coding itself, more the structural and content aspects)
• Publicize opportunities to participate in tool development to potential contributors over public channels
• Send regular project updates and publicize opportunities to participate in the tool's contributor community over email, social media and other public channels Issue Triage & Prioritization
• Help triage Issues and Pull Requests for all tool repositories, with an emphasis on community contributions
• Recommend process improvements in areas such as issues triage and prioritization
• Develop methods for automating reminders about aged issues or PRs that require follow-up
• Review, organize and curate old issues to make them accessible for external contributors to resolve
• Interact with users of varying technical levels to respond to issues
Communications/Marketing
• Lead publicity and raise awareness with the community when new features are released
• Build knowledge of the tool among developers, trainers and users
• Support tool maintenance in ensuring key messaging gets out to the audience of users
