Our mission goes beyond clothing — we strive to build a community where everyone feels supported and seen.About the Job:The position of Senior Front-End Developer at Comfrt has deep experience in Shopify Headless storefront development using React, along with proficiency in Shopify Functions and Git-based workflows. You will play a key role in crafting high-quality, responsive, and performance-optimized eCommerce experiences that drive user engagement and conversions. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who’s passionate about front-end architecture, Shopify customization, and delivering pixel-perfect UI.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and implement new features across the Shopify Headless storefront, focusing on key pages (homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, and checkout) using React, HTML, Tailwind, SCSS, and TypeScript.Implement and customize Shopify Functions to extend backend logic and commerce behaviorIntegrate the storefront with external services and APIs, including the Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL), Shopify Admin API (GraphQL), Shopify Metafields, and third-party integrations like Algolia.Act as an engineering partner to UX/UI designers, translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, performance-optimized, and robust React components, while actively contributing to design critiques to ensure technical feasibility and component reusability early in the product lifecycle.Customize existing Shopify themes and apps to meet business needsContribute to the evolution and governance of our Storybook-based design system, including architecting new, high-quality React components, establishing comprehensive usage guidelines, and maintaining the source of truth for design tokens across the application.Optimize storefront performance with lazy loading, proper asset management, and code splittingEnsure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsivenessUphold the highest standards of web accessibility, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA.Debug and resolve technical issues related to front-end development and theme codeMaintain and follow coding best practices and documentation standardsRequirements:5+ years of experience in front-end development, with a strong focus on Shopify Headless storefrontsExperience working in fast paced start-up, DTC environment, Ecommerce brandDeep proficiency in React, HTML, Tailwind, SCSS, and TypeScript for building and customizing Shopify Headless storefrontsProven experience leveraging agentic coding and AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate feature development and maintain high code quality.Direct experience with the Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL) and Shopify Admin API (GraphQL) for data retrievalExperience with modern React state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API, Zustand)Familiarity with modern headless deployment frameworks like Shopify Hydrogen/Next.js.Hands-on experience with Shopify Functions to build custom discount, payment, or delivery logicHands-on experience translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive web experiencesSolid understanding of Git-based workflows and version control best practicesExperience implementing and customizing key eCommerce pages including homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, and checkoutStrong knowledge of front-end performance optimization techniques such as lazy loading, asset management, and code splittingFamiliarity with Shopify apps and the ability to customize or extend their functionalityExcellent cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness skillsDemonstrated expertise in building and maintaining storefronts that meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, including deep experience with semantic HTML and ARIA.Experience working cross-functionally with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend developersExperience collaborating with QA teams throughout the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), including participating in technical design reviews and assisting with bug resolution.Extensive experience working closely with UI/UX teams to manage seamless design handoffs and ensure accurate implementation of visual specifications.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills related to theme code and front-end issuesCommitment to clean code, documentation standards, and development best practicesWhy Join Comfrt?Be part of a purpose-driven company that’s shaping the future of comfort and mental wellness.Work in a supportive, creative environment where your ideas and growth are valued.Enjoy Comfrt benefits such as generous paid time off, company-covered health insurance, 5% 401k match, and discounts on all Comfrt products!Join a passionate team making an impact on exciting projects, all while enjoying the flexibility and collaborative support of a fully remote environment.Comfrt is an equal opportunity employer.
