DescriptionArmy Network Engineer (Tactical Data & Infrastructure)As an Army Network Engineer, you will bridge the gap between operational military requirements and advanced communication technologies at the tactical edge. You will design, implement, and sustain secure, resilient infrastructures that ensure seamless data exchange in contested and austere environments.Beyond traditional networking, you will be a key architect in the Army's digital transformation, delivering critical data solutions for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) frameworks. Your mission is to translate complex operational needs into actionable engineering specifications, ensuring information superiority for the warfighter where it matters most.Key ResponsibilitiesTactical Infrastructure: Deploy, configure, and sustain resilient network stacks (routers, switches, firewalls, and radios) supporting active Army missions.Data & AI Enablement: Design and optimize infrastructure to support AI workloads and LCNC platforms, ensuring data fluidity from the enterprise to the edge.Systems Integration: Support tactical compute platforms, including virtualization (VMware/KVM), containerized workloads, and core infrastructure services.Network Defense: Execute platform hardening, patching, and STIG compliance to maintain a robust security posture in disconnected or contested environments.Operational Engineering: Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting for latency and availability issues under high-pressure, field conditions.Compliance & Documentation: Lead RMF and ATO activities with technical artifacts; maintain precise network diagrams, load plans, and configuration journals.Mission Collaboration: Partner with cybersecurity and application teams to align technical capabilities with DoD standards and mission objectives.TAG: INDMJCTAG: #LI-I4DMRequirementsRequired Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional/military experience).Experience: 6+ years of hands-on experience in tactical networking or mission platform support.Technical Proficiency: * Expertise in Cisco networking (Routing, Switching, QoS, and Segmentation).Deep understanding of WIN-T, SATCOM, LOS, and BLOS communication protocols.Experience managing both classified and unclassified data networks in austere environments.Security: Ability to gain a Secret clearance (minimum) and current CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II) certification.Communication: Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into "operational speak" for commanders and non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, or VCP (VMware Certified Professional).Modern DevOps: Experience with Python, Ansible, or PowerShell for network automation at the edge.Cloud/Edge Compute: Familiarity with hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker).Military Context: Prior experience supporting Army tactical units (S6/G6) or operating in deployed environments.
