As a Senior Product Designer at Deliveroo, you will be accountable for every feature you design, from the very first sketch through to implementation. You will define standards, work closely with design teams, drive excellence, assist with technical implementation, and shape product strategy and vision. You will also work on diverse products such as rider apps, products for restaurants, consumer products, internal tools, and design systems and tools. We are looking for problem solvers with a keen eye for visual design execution, a strategic view, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with disciplines to achieve the best outcome. Responsibilities:
- Define standards and work closely with design teams in defining, designing, and evolving high-level design patterns, UI kits, guidelines, and custom tooling.
- Communicate changes and updates, gather feedback to adjust the system, and unblock designers as they run into issues.
- Champion consistency, a high degree of UI craft, and the inclusion of illustration and animation in products.
- Assist with technical implementation and work closely with UI engineers who build and maintain design systems in code.
- Work closely with the team and other designers in defining, designing, and iterating on product features across web and mobile platforms.
- Invest in design standards, documentation, and processes alongside team members to further the design practice.
- Shape product strategy and vision together with product managers.
- Drive and support cross-team initiatives that make the Content, Research & Design practice at Deliveroo better.
- Work in the way that works for you and what you're designing, whether that's spending time sketching or jumping straight into pixels and code.
- Identify the opportunity for a new product.
- Research market and customer needs.
- Concept product designs.
- Conduct user research, create UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, and tests.
- Design color palette, branding, and general visual aesthetics.
- Create interaction designs including animation, menus, and general functionality.
- Ensure quality assurance of build and further testing.
