What You’ll Do
As a Full-Stack Engineer at Property Alpha, you will wear many hats and drive our product forward. In this role, you will:
● Build Front-to-Back Features: Develop and ship new product features across the stack
– from slick, responsive UIs to efficient backend services and APIs.
● Enable Real-Time Analytics: Implement complex financial calculation engines (e.g.
property valuations, investment KPIs) that run instantaneously across large datasets.
Ensure our computations are accurate, fast, and can scale to more users and data.
● Leverage AI in Development: Use AI coding assistants (ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) as part
of your daily workflow to boost productivity and code quality. For example, quickly
generate boilerplate, get unit test suggestions, or brainstorm solutions – we encourage
an AI-augmented approach to move faster.
● Collaborate & Iterate: Work closely with our founder to translate ideas into reality.
Participate in product ideation, contribute to technical discussions, and iterate quickly
based on user feedback – typical startup agility!
● Ensure Quality & Performance: Write clean, maintainable code and automated tests.
Debug and resolve issues across the stack – from cross-browser quirks in the frontend
to performance bottlenecks in the backend. You take ownership of delivering a reliable,
high-performance platform.
● Shape the Product: As an early engineer, you’ll have a seat at the table. You’ll
contribute ideas on product direction, UI/UX, and even business strategy. Your insights
will help shape our roadmap and technical choices.
What You Bring
We’re seeking top-tier engineering talent who can hit the ground running and excel in a
dynamic startup environment. The ideal candidate has:
● Full-Stack Experience: Demonstrated experience (2+ years preferred) building modern
web applications across the stack. You can craft a beautiful frontend and also dive into
backend and database code with ease.
● Scalability Mindset: Hands-on experience scaling architectures for high-volume
data or traffic. You’ve designed systems or features that gracefully handle large
datasets, high concurrency, or intensive computations.
● Frontend Chops: Proficiency with React and TypeScript for rich, interactive UIs. You
write clean, component-based UI code and have a good eye for UX/design details.
Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or similar CSS frameworks for rapidly styling components.
● Backend Skills: Strong Python skills for building robust backend services. Experience
with SQL databases (PostgreSQL) – you can write optimized queries and design
normalized schemas. Bonus if you’ve used Supabase or similar BaaS frameworks
● Cloud & DevOps: Knowledge of deploying and running applications in the cloud.
Experience with Node/Python serverless functions or containers. Familiarity with Vercel
for frontend deployment and Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Run, VMs) for
big-data processing and backend infrastructure is a plus. You understand how to build
and operate a service in production (CI/CD, monitoring, scalability).
● AI-Enabled Development: Eagerness to use AI tools in your workflow. You’ve played
with GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI dev assistants to generate code or solve
problems, and you’re excited about how AI can help you code smarter and faster.
● Strong Communication: Excellent English communication skills, both written and
verbal. You can articulately discuss complex technical topics with the team and
document your work. Since we’re remote and small, clear communication is essential.
● Startup Attitude: Self-driven, proactive, and adaptable. You take ownership of tasks
and drive them to completion. You love learning new technologies and wearing multiple
hats. Uncertainty or new challenges excite you rather than intimidate you.
Entrepreneurial mindset is a big plus – you treat the company’s goals as your own.
Nice to have (not required but awesome): Experience in fintech or real estate domains,
knowledge of data analytics/BI tools, or contributions to open-source projects. If you’ve built something cool on your own (apps, libraries, etc.), we’d love to see it!
