Its work is supported by philanthropy.Reporting to the CEO, the director will own fundraising strategy and build the systems, relationships, and team needed to sustain scientific work.Key responsibilities include:Develop annual and multi-year fundraising strategyStrengthen development systems, processes, metrics, CRM use, and portfolio trackingMonitor pipeline health, conversion, and revenue projections for leaders and the boardIdentify and qualify high-net-worth and foundation prospectsCultivate and steward major-gift and institutional-funder portfoliosLead proposals, concept notes, reports, and funder-ready scientific narrativesLead the development team and contribute to organizational leadership and risk managementFrom ILCG's perspective, this role joins scientific translation with fundraising infrastructure. A practical fit test is whether a candidate can preserve technical accuracy while making a complex research case understandable to different funders.
