At Space Ocean we’re a cutting-edge space startup on a mission to push the boundaries of exploration and innovation to supply resources for humanity’s expansion into space, targeting near-Earth orbit by 2027 and beyond, including Mars. As we prepare to launch groundbreaking projects, we’re seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead technical excellence and drive the development of next-generation for satellite-based fluid transport missions. Role Overview Are you a visionary tech leader ready to shape the future of the New Space Economy? As CTO at Space Ocean Corp, you'll drive innovation, architect cutting-edge solutions, and lead a world-class engineering team to redefine space sustainability. This is your chance to build transformative technology and leave a legacy in the cosmos the title of the position this role will report directly to the President. Key Responsibilities Lead Technical Vision: Define and execute the technology roadmap and systems for space logistics. Build the Tech Stack: Architect scalable, secure platforms to support Space Ocean's missions, from satellite networks to orbital infrastructure. Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performance engineering and science team to deliver groundbreaking solutions. Innovate Relentlessly: Spearhead R&D to evolve our product offerings, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in space tech. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with the President, CEO and fundraising team to articulate technical vision to investors, showcasing our massive upside potential What We're Looking For 20+ years of progressive experience in tech leadership roles, ideally within deep-tech, aerospace, or space startups BS and MS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, etc) with PhD preferred. Proven track record of architecting and scaling complex systems (e.g., launch operations, spacecraft AI&T, autonomous robotics, or space infrastructure). Expertise and experience in current technical tools and systems relevant to current commercial space operations. If you can’t point to the sky right now and see an item you personally have actually put in space then this is not the role for you. Strong communicator able to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Nice-to-Have Experience as a CTO, founder, or senior tech leader in a high-growth space or deep-tech startup. Existing network within space-focused R&D communities, NASA, or top-tier tech VCs. Familiarity with space regulatory frameworks (e.g., FAA, NASA, DOD) and compliance. Why Join Us?
