# User Experience (UX) Researcher **Location:** Remote **Employment Type:** Contract (6 Months, with Option to Renew) **Start Date:** ASAP **FLSA Status:** Exempt **Safety Sensitive Position:** No ## Position Summary We are seeking a User Experience (UX) Researcher with a passion for understanding user needs, exceptional attention to detail, and expertise in leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to drive product decisions. In this role, you will lead and support user research initiatives in partnership with UX Designers, Product Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to uncover actionable insights, create customer journey maps, validate concepts with users, and measure the impact of digital experiences. The ideal candidate is experienced in both exploratory and evaluative research methodologies and is committed to ensuring that user needs remain at the center of product strategy and design decisions. Your research will directly influence product direction, enhance customer experiences, and support evidence-based decision-making across teams. ## Key Responsibilities * Develop and execute research strategies, including defining research objectives, success metrics, and comprehensive research plans. * Conduct customer discovery activities using a variety of research methodologies, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and observational studies. * Create and maintain customer journey maps, user personas, and user flows to communicate user needs and behaviors. * Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders to build a deep understanding of customer requirements. * Advocate for customer-centered decision-making throughout the product development lifecycle. * Partner with UX Designers to plan and facilitate usability testing sessions and iterate on prototypes and product concepts based on user feedback. * Analyze and synthesize research findings to identify patterns, uncover user pain points, and translate insights into actionable recommendations. * Utilize research and analytics tools such as Figma, Lyssna, Dovetail, and other user insight platforms to gather, manage, and communicate findings. * Establish and maintain ongoing feedback loops with users to support continuous product improvement. ## Required Qualifications ### Education * Bachelor's degree in human-Centered Design, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. ### Experience * Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting UX research, user discovery activities, and usability testing. * Experience applying both qualitative and quantitative research methods to inform product and design decisions. ### Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to work independently and manage multiple research initiatives simultaneously. * Expertise in generative (exploratory) and evaluative (usability) research methodologies. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights. * Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and storytelling skills. * Proficiency with UX research tools and platforms. * Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. ## Preferred Qualifications * 5+ years of experience in UX research, human-centered design, psychology, or a related field. * Experience leading end-to-end research programs within agile product development environments. * Familiarity with digital product analytics and data-driven decision-making.
