About the RoleThe Global Transport & Trade Manager is a high-impact role responsible for end-to-end management of international (first mile - ocean) and U.S. domestic (last mile - parcel) logistics operations, trade compliance. This individual will lead a team of logistics and trade professionals, build scalable transportation and customs frameworks, and partner cross-functionally to support the company's global growth ambitions.What You Will DoOversee global container and freight management across ocean, air, and land modes, ensuring optimal booking, allocation, routing, and on-time, cost-efficient delivery performance.Manage shipment exceptions and disruptions proactively, resolving delays while maintaining high global service levels.Build and manage strategic relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, 3PLs, and other logistics service providers.Own HTS classification of goods and ensure full global trade compliance, including import/export regulations, denied party screening, sanctions compliance, and export controls (EAR/ITAR where applicable).Manage end-to-end customs clearance and documentation processes, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs entries, while coordinating with brokers and authorities to resolve issues.Lead final mile delivery operations, including carrier selection and onboarding, and monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, delivery success rate, and cost per delivery in collaboration with warehouse and operations teams.Drive rate management and cost optimization through RFQs/RFPs, carrier negotiations, benchmarking, and identification of savings opportunities including FTAs and duty drawback programs.Manage transportation technology and analytics (TMS, tracking systems), ensure risk management and business continuity planning, lead cross-functional collaboration and logistics budgeting, and support sustainability/ESG initiatives including emissions reduction and compliance reporting.Who You AreBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field, with 4–6 years of progressive experience in global logistics (first mile and final mile) and trade compliance.Proven experience managing multi-modal international freight operations, including ocean, air, and road transportation.Strong expertise in customs regulations, HTS classification, trade compliance frameworks, and global import/export requirements.Demonstrated success in freight contract negotiation, carrier management, and delivering measurable cost savings at scale.Experience leading and developing teams across multiple geographies with strong leadership and people development capability.Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to present insights and performance metrics to senior stakeholders.Proficiency in TMS platforms, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel, with strong stakeholder communication and negotiation skills.Preferred: MBA or Master’s in relevant field, certifications such as CCB, CSCMP, CCLP, or APICS CSCP, plus experience in DG handling (IATA/IMDG), FTAs, duty drawback programs, and sustainability/logistics carbon footprint initiatives.About NysonianNysonian builds the next generation of global lifestyle brands; brands that inspire how people travel, move, and live.
