Quality Engineers on the EmPower team are responsible for testing the integration of a wide variety of smart home devices within Alarm.com’s ecosystem. This position has a strong focus on the functional testing of end-to-end systems, providing an excellent opportunity to engage with the full depth of our products, by working with software, firmware, and hardware. Responsibilities: - Develops and presents test plan documents for cross functional testing efforts and writes department procedures on various processes. - Provides input into the QE organization's technical strategy and may provide input to the Engineering technical strategy. - Interacting with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Management to ensure the quality of the software and hardware products - Participates in setting program and project objectives for team. - Identifies and contributes test cases for the automation team to include in the automation infrastructure. - Comfortable talking with full development team, at an intermediate level, to understand requirements and discuss expected behavior. - Drives innovations and improvements in their work that have an impact on product quality and the customer experience. - Delivers on objectives and deals with changes without impacting quality or schedule, and/or takes the initiative to clearly articulate impact of such changes in terms of schedule, technical, and quality risk/impact - Interacting with various stakeholders and other engineering teams to ensure the highest level of quality for the product under test.
