As we prepare to launch groundbreaking projects, we’re seeking a Configuration Management Manager to lead technical excellence and drive the development of next-generation for satellite-based fluid transport missions.
Role Overview
As a consulting Configuration Management Manager, i,e you’ll own the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle for our missions, ensuring seamless integration of complex systems while mentoring teams and shaping our technical strategy. This position reports directly to the COO.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain Configuration Management (CM) policies, plans, and procedures aligned with industry standards (e.g., EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61, ISO).
Lead configuration identification, control, status accounting, and audits across hardware, software, and documentation baselines.
Manage the Change Control Board (CCB) process — review, evaluate, and approve engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs).
Ensure traceability and version control of all configuration items throughout the product lifecycle.
Oversee the use and optimization of CM tools (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, DOORS, SharePoint, JIRA)
Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management for the CM team.
Interface with engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management teams to ensure CM requirements are met.
Prepare and deliver CM reports, metrics, and audits for internal leadership and external customers.
Support contract and regulatory compliance related to CM deliverables and data packages.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of experience in configuration management, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of CM principles, standards, and industry practices (EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61, AS9100).
Hands-on experience with PLM/CM tools (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, DOORS, JIRA, SAP, or equivalent).
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with engineers, program managers, and executives.
Nice-to-Have
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Systems Management, or related field.
Configuration Manager Certification (CMPIC, CMII, or equivalent).
Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with government/military CM standards and contract compliance.
Proven track record of leading CM teams in fast-paced, multi-program environments.
