About DataDrivenPharma DataDrivenPharma is a fast-growing professional community at the intersection of data science, biotech, and pharma. We bring together practitioners and leaders through curated events, content, and conversations designed to advance how data science is practiced in life sciences. Our flagship event, DataDrivenPharma West, is a full-day conference built specifically for data scientists in biotech and pharma, combining high-quality technical content with a deliberately designed attendee experience and meaningful networking. We also host smaller forums and are expanding our digital presence through community and content initiatives. We’re looking for a marketer who wants real ownership: someone who can take an existing, working playbook and make it better over time, then help expand it into new channels. The Role As Marketing Manager (Events & Community), you will own the marketing execution and iteration for DataDrivenPharma’s events and, over time, help expand our ecosystem through new content and community initiatives. This is not a role focused on inventing everything from scratch on day one. We already have an event marketing process that works. Your initial mandate will be to run it, improve it, and take responsibility for outcomes. As you ramp up and build context, you’ll gradually take ownership of additional initiatives, including launching a newsletter and helping grow an online community. You’ll work closely with the founder, but this is a role for someone who is comfortable operating independently, making judgment calls, and treating programs as their own. What You’ll Do • Own marketing execution for DataDrivenPharma events, including our flagship conference • Run and continuously improve an existing event marketing process across email, social, and partner channels • Manage timelines and execution independently, with accountability for results • Collaborate on clear, credible messaging for technical and professional audiences • Monitor performance (registrations, engagement, conversion trends) and adjust tactics proactively • Share insights and recommendations to improve outcomes over time • After a successful transition of event marketing ownership, help launch and grow a DataDrivenPharma newsletter • Support the phased launch and growth of a Slack-based community, including onboarding and engagement loops Who You Are • You’re a marketer who wants ownership, not just tasks or deliverables Is comfortable taking responsibility for execution and outcomes • Enjoys improving systems that already work • Thinks in terms of audiences, incentives, and feedback loops • Is organized, proactive, and reliable without heavy process • Communicates clearly and follows through Preferred Qualifications • Excellent written and verbal English communication (C2 English Level) • 2 to 5 years of professional marketing experience • Experience with professional event marketing and/or technical, biotech, pharma, or B2B audiences strongly preferred • Bachelor’s degree; MS or MBA is a plus • Hands-on experience with email marketing and multichannel campaigns • CRM, Sequencing, project management, and email marketing tools. Specific tooling: Hubspot, Lemlist, Zapier, Notion, and Slack • Familiarity with LinkedIn marketing is preferred but not required • Prior involvement in professional communities (events, Slack groups, meetups, newsletters) is a plus • Fully remote (WFH) with at least 4 hours overlap with Pacific Time This is a wish list, and you are encouraged to apply if you don’t hit all of these points but believe you’d be a good fit and enjoy the role Role Details & Benefits • Remote office setup budget • Company-provided laptop and equipment • Competitive compensation and a performance bonus • Opportunity to grow responsibility over time as the role expands Why This Role Is Different • This is not a role where success is defined by posting content or reporting metrics. • You’ll be given leeway to: • Run important programs in partnership with with founder • Improve them over time through iteration and judgment • Take responsibility for results • Share in the successes
