Stanley Black & Decker is looking for a Purchasing Lead to join their NA Industrial Joint System Solutions Procurement Ops team. This full-time position involves providing guidance, support, and direction to team members, managing relationships with suppliers, overseeing day-to-day operations, and contributing to cost reduction projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, 5-10 years of professional purchasing experience, and the ability to lead complicated projects across functional teams. Responsibilities: - Maintain close relationships with suppliers within assigned commodities and take a proactive approach in interfacing with them to resolve issues. - Manage a team of 5+ employees, including development, day-to-day guidance, and overall performance management. - Maintain and report department and vendor KPI’s. - Conduct supplier assessments to meet the current and future needs of the business unit. - Assist in efforts of the selection of new suppliers and supplier on-boarding. - Oversee day-to-day teams' operation and performance, goal development, and progression for direct reports, who are located across multiple sites. - Create and update purchase orders, supplier scorecards, supplier profile folders, and other documentation as required to ensure data integrity. - Identify and manage the implementation of cost reduction projects. - Coordinate the development, implementation, and execution of supply agreements as required. - Support cross-functional team initiatives around total cost improvements and supply vulnerability reductions. - Maintain and update department training documents. - Assist purchasing agents in general department questions and guide them in the correct process. - Assist in the rollout and recurring training on department processes. - Monitor commodity market trends against supplier pricing and apply knowledge within activities to drive the lowest total delivered cost to SBD. - Support the continual training of suppliers to ensure they are following the latest SBD policies and procedures.
