As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and stability of our backend and applications. This role is critical to building a formal QA practice, expanding automated testing coverage, and delivering high-quality solutions to internal teams and end-users. You will also contribute to the evolution of the platform and its integration with CoachCare systems. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for applications including: - Backend: Ruby-on-Rails and Node.js - Frontend: React web applications - Mobile: React Native apps • Expand automated testing coverage, focusing on regression testing, EHR integration testing, device data testing, and data verification. • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Integration Testing, and Performance Testing. • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product managers across distributed teams. • Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like Jira (access requests), PagerDuty (production incidents), and Zendesk (user-reported bugs/issues). • Participate in release project management, providing QA sign-off for deployments. •Contribute to the development and improvement of formal QA processes and procedures. • Ensure compliance with HIPAA Security and Privacy Rules, including secure data handling and 2FA-controlled access to production environments. •Review test results and provide actionable feedback to the team. Required Skills and Experience: ✓ Proven experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar software testing role. ✓ Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing methodologies and tools. ✓ Experience testing web and mobile applications. ✓ Solid experience with API testing (required). ✓ Experience with integrations, particularly EHR integrations (highly desirable). ✓ Familiarity with database systems (PostgreSQL preferred) for test setup and data validation. ✓ Experience with version control systems. ✓ Familiarity with issue tracking and project management tools. ✓ Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies. ✓ Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and experience handling protected health information (ePHI) securely is a plus. ✓ Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a distributed, cross-functional team.
