Requirements and responsibilities

SST designs and manufactures small-scale electrical components used around the world. These products include vacuum feedthroughs, hermetic connectors, and related accessories for vacuum systems. Our parts are found in many types of industrial, medical, and research facilities, and you will work with technologies used on equipment like energy storage systems, MRI machines, and particle accelerators. We have even sent parts to Mars! NASA's Mars Insight Mission uses components made right here in Watervliet, NY. The Production department has opportunities currently in painting/metalizing, but other duties may be assigned based on company’s needs. As a Production Team Member, your responsibilities may include: Read drawings, work instructions, and referenced procedures to determine requirements. Apply coatings by hand, with the use of a small paint brush or other hand tools, to ceramic insulators. Perform dimensional and visual inspection of applied coatings. Check thickness of applied coatings using X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) system. Assemble parts, fixtures, and braze alloy as necessary. Operate various blasting cabinets. Perform subsequent rinsing or cleaning of blasted assemblies, manually or in automated cleaning line. Use defined test fixturing or determine appropriate test fixturing as necessary. Route parts to other operations according to work instructions. Record completion of work steps, rework, and scrap transactions, in computer system.
