Requirements and responsibilities


The Discovery Clerk supports the legal team by assisting with the organization, review, and management of discovery materials in family law and Child Protective Act (CPA) cases. This role requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with legal documents, and the ability to follow established procedures while working remotely. Key Responsibilities * Learn and operate the firm’s primary discovery platform, Goldfynch. Prior experience is not required; comfort with learning new technology is essential. * Serve as the primary discovery support contact for attorneys, including processing, organizing, and producing discovery materials and exhibits. * Organize, label, and manage electronic discovery documents and case files in a structured and searchable manner. * Assist attorneys with document review for relevance, responsiveness, and privilege. * Prepare discovery responses, productions, and related materials under attorney supervision. * Maintain accurate discovery logs, production indexes, and tracking spreadsheets. * Upload, download, and manage files within document management and case management systems. * Coordinate closely with attorneys and legal staff to meet discovery deadlines and litigation schedules. * Ensure strict compliance with firm procedures, confidentiality obligations, and data security standards. * Perform additional litigation support and administrative tasks as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience. * Prior experience in legal support, discovery, document review, or litigation assistance preferred. * Familiarity with U.S. legal terminology and civil litigation processes is an advantage. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Experience with legal case management or document management systems, such as Clio or similar platforms, is a plus. * Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. * Ability to follow detailed instructions, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Willingness and ability to overlap working hours with offshore teams in Manila and U.S.-based attorneys in Pacific Time. * Reliable high-speed internet connection and a secure, private remote work environment. Preferred Skills * Experience handling electronic discovery (eDiscovery) and large-volume document sets. * Comfort working with PDFs, scanned records, and spreadsheets. * Strong written communication skills in English. * Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed, remote legal team.
