Vortiq is looking for a talented and passionate Backend Developer (Python) to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building scalable backend systems, cloud-native applications, APIs, and event-driven architectures.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python, Django, and FastAPI.Build, integrate, and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs.Develop and manage event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.Design, optimize, and maintain databases using MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL technologies.Develop and support serverless applications using AWS Lambda and other AWS services.Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.Write automated unit and integration tests using PyTest.Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for performance, reliability, and scalability.Participate in code reviews and contribute to software architecture and technical design discussions.Create and maintain technical documentation and development standards.Required Qualifications3–6 years of professional experience in backend software development.Strong proficiency in Python programming.Hands-on experience with Django and FastAPI frameworks.Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs.Strong knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.Experience working with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.Experience with AWS services, including AWS Lambda.Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.Strong experience with automated testing using PyTest.Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.Understanding of software design patterns and best practices.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.Experience creating and managing Helm Charts.Experience integrating applications with AWS Managed Machine Learning - - Services (Amazon SageMaker and related AI/ML services).Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud-native development.Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.Exposure to DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.Work ScheduleCandidates must be available to work during PST (Pacific Standard Time) business hours.LocationRemote
