Position Summary:We are seeking a Senior BI Platform Engineer with extensive experience in Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx administration to lead the stability, scalability, and automation of our enterprise analytics ecosystem. This role demands end-to-end ownership of platform operations — from capacity and license management to API-based automation, integration, governance, and cross-platform optimization. You will also serve as the primary liaison with vendor support teams, ensuring rapid resolution of escalations and smooth platform operationsTableau Platform AdministrationLead administration of Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server across multiple tenants and sites.Manage user provisioning, access governance, and license allocation at enterprise scale.Plan and execute version upgrades, patches, and migrations (on-prem to cloud).Maintain Tableau Bridge nodes — performing health checks, connector updates, and log monitoring.Automate platform workflows using the Tableau REST API and Tableau Server Client (TSC).Integrate Okta SSO/SAML for authentication and user lifecycle automation.Monitor adoption and performance through Admin Insights dashboards.Required Qualifications:10+ years of experience in a BI support or engineering role.Advanced experience with Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, and MSTR, including administrative functions, troubleshooting, and user support.Proven experience providing L3 support and managing CI/CD pipelines for BI platforms.Strong knowledge of BI architecture, data visualization best practices, and data modelling concepts.Excellent roblem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior business leaders.Experience with SQL, data warehouses, and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, Snowflake) is preferred.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.Power BI Platform AdministrationAdminister multiple Power BI capacities, workspaces, and tenants, ensuring optimal utilization and governance.Manage licenses, permissions, and Service Principals (SPs) via Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).Oversee deployment pipelines for content promotion and CI/CD-style workflows.Maintain Power BI Gateways and Fabric capacities, tracking performance metrics and CPU utilization.Automate administrative tasks via Power BI REST API.Raise and manage support tickets, coordinating escalations with Microsoft.Alteryx Platform AdministrationAdminister and upgrade Alteryx Server (on-prem) for high availability and performance.Manage Alteryx Designer, Business Suite, and server licensing across the organization.Monitor and maintain gallery, scheduler, and controller services.Use Alteryx Server API for automation, workflow tracking, and system health monitoring.Support users with Designer workflows, troubleshooting runtime or configuration issues.Log and follow up with Alteryx Support for escalations and patch management.Governance, Monitoring & CollaborationMaintain documentation, SOPs, and best practices in Confluence.Track support and sprint activities in Jira, ensuring SLA compliance.Communicate upgrades, outages, and feature rollouts proactively to users.Act as primary point of contact for vendor support teams, raising, tracking, and following up on tickets.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for dashboard or workflow failures, validating data lineage across environments.Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure consistent governance, authentication, and performance optimization across BI platforms.Core Tools & TechnologiesTableau Cloud / Server / Bridge / Prep / DesktopPower BI Service / Gateway / Fabric / DesktopAlteryx Server / Designer / Business SuiteTableau REST API / TSC | Power BI REST API | Alteryx Server APIOkta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)Jira, ConfluencePython / PowerShell scripting for automationPreferred SkillsHands-on experience with Snowflake and Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ETL orchestration and data integration.Familiarity with CI/CD processes for BI content deployment.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for RCA across dashboards and data flows.Experience managing multi-platform BI environments at scale, including cross-platform automation and governance.Qualifications8–10 years of experience in BI platform engineering or administration, covering Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx.Proven expertise in enterprise BI platform management, including automation, authentication, and multi-tenant governance.Strong ability to troubleshoot complex, cross-platform performance and data issues.Excellent communication and documentation skills to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.AI DisclaimerWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
