Requirements and responsibilities

About the roleCome and be a product lead for the Current User Retention Team, an extraordinary Growth team with a world-changing mission. Duolingo’s core story for the last 13 years has been about consistent user growth, and in the Growth Pillar you’ll be at the heart of it. You’ll work on some of Duolingo’s most famous features, helping build and invent product that drive retention and engagement: the streak, leaderboards, notifications, widgets. Our Current User Retention team can run upwards of 100 experiments a quarter, meaning that we’re learning what learners respond to at a breakneck pace, not only helping improve the product literally every day but also giving PMs the opportunity to develop a much stronger sense of what works (and what doesn’t). The core of the work in Growth at Duolingo is behavioral science - what helps people build a new habit, to continue learning even when it gets hard, and to go deeper in their learning so that they make real, meaningful progress. We look to PMs to drive the ideas and opportunities; rarely is our leadership team dictating features for teams to build, and some of our most successful and iconic growth features have been initiatives started by junior and senior PMs alike. At Duolingo, you’ll have the opportunity (and be expected) to chart new paths for growth within the product.Critical to our growth is that at the core of Duolingo, we’re not a game - we are a learning product. By helping grow and retain users, you’re helping people all over the world learn a language or a skill, gaining new opportunities in life.
