Our team is passionate about innovating ways to source, validate, and clean complex chemical and raw material data. We work tirelessly to bring the highest grade of information to all of our customers and internal teams. Our goal is to become the industry's source of truth and the gold standard for chemical & supplier information. As our first data engineering leader, you’ll be instrumental in helping us achieve this. Responsibilities: - Investigate the critical business needs of Valdera’s ops team and end users to design effective data solutions - Lead the re-design and re-construction of the data layer that empowers Valdera to access accurate information on suppliers - Design and architect efficient continuous data ETL pipelines from numerous external data sources - Architect our data warehouse modeling layer and establish the schemas which will serve as the foundation for scaling our data - Build out experiments and analytics to demonstrate efficiency of data acquisition and end quality of data - Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing team and culture within your department - Identify gaps and quality issues in our data and improve current data acquisition/cleaning methods - Normalize, sanitize, and validate unstructured data for operational and product use - Coach and mentor less experienced members of the team - Help us grow the data team by participating in candidate interviews and networking
