Primary care medical practice seeking a dependable Virtual Provider Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to physicians/providers and serve as backup for the practice's front desk and telephone switchboard.The ideal candidate has experience working remotely with a U.S. medical practice, excellent English communication skills, strong telephone etiquette, and experience with electronic health records. eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support to assigned medical providers.Monitor and process assigned EHR messages, documents, and administrative tasks.Answer and route incoming patient calls.Provide backup switchboard/front-desk coverage.Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.Create accurate telephone encounters and patient messages.Assist with patient portal and administrative communications.Support referral and medical-record workflows.Track outstanding administrative requests through completion.Communicate with pharmacies, specialists, hospitals, laboratories, and other healthcare organizations for administrative purposes.Document patient communications accurately in the EHR.Route clinical questions and urgent concerns promptly to appropriate clinical personnel.Assist with patient outreach, appointment reminders, recalls, and follow-up scheduling.Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.QualificationsPrevious medical office, virtual medical assistant, healthcare call-center, or physician-practice experience preferred.Strong spoken and written English.Excellent telephone and customer-service skills.Strong computer and EHR skills.Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.Reliable high-speed internet and private remote workspace.Experience with U.S. healthcare practices preferred.eClinicalWorks experience strongly preferred.Primary care/internal medicine experience is a plus.Important Scope of RoleThis is a non-clinical administrative position. The assistant does not provide medical advice, independently triage patients, interpret results, authorize medications, or make clinical decisions.
