We are seeking a flexible, dynamic Accounting Manager to manage accounting operations and processes across Carbon Direct Inc. The ideal candidate combines solid analytical skills with a deep knowledge of accounting principles to prepare and analyze financial reports. This role requires collaboration with team members across departments and a passion for solving climate problems. The Accounting Manager will report to the VP of Finance and will be responsible for owning accounting activities and policies, managing the outsourced accounting team, serving as the main point of contact for financial audits and tax returns, collaborating closely with the VP of Finance on financial reporting, and more. The successful candidate will have experience in an accounting, auditing, or finance role, including management and supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting or finance preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is preferred, and knowledge of GAAP and key areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and software capitalization is essential. The salary for this position is $112,000-$137,000, and the benefits package includes comprehensive nationwide medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible vacation policy, 16 weeks of fully paid parental and family leave, remote-friendly work culture, and more. Responsibilities: - Own accounting activities and policies, including key areas such as revenue recognition - Manage outsourced accounting team and any future accounting hires - Serve as the main point of contact for financial audits and tax returns - Collaborate closely with the VP of Finance on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management - Run monthly and quarterly financial close processes - Manage A/R, A/P, payroll accounting, and intercompany accounting - Refine accounting infrastructure and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com, Rippling, Carta, HubSpot) for a growing organization - Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations - Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and infrastructure
