Requirements and responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to serve as a technical anchor for our small team. You will work across the entire stack, from database design to API development to frontend features, shaping technical decisions and mentoring other developers. Backend (50%) * Design and implement RESTful APIs using Python/FastAPI. * Build and optimize database schemas (PostgreSQL). * Integrate with LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) for AI features. * Implement authentication, authorization, and multi-tenancy. * Write efficient, well-tested code with comprehensive error handling. * Optimize performance for data-intensive operations. Frontend (30%) * Build complex UI components in React/TypeScript. * Implement responsive designs from Figma specifications. * Manage application state effectively. * Ensure accessibility and cross-browser compatibility. Technical Leadership (20%) * Participate in architecture decisions. * Code review and mentor junior developers. * Establish coding standards and best practices. * Troubleshoot production issues. * Document systems and processes. Requirements * 5+ years of professional software development experience. * 3+ years with Python (FastAPI or Django preferred). * 3+ years with React and TypeScript. * Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred). * Experience with RESTful API design. * Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines. * Comfortable working in English (written and verbal). * Overlap with US Eastern time zone (at least 4 hours). Strong Preference * Experience with LLM/AI integration. * Experience with async Python (asyncio, Celery). * Experience with Redis for caching/queues. * Experience with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP). * Previous startup or small team experience. * Experience with Stripe or payment integrations. Nice to Have * Experience with Next.js. * Experience with Tailwind CSS. * Experience with data visualization libraries. * Background in SaaS products. * Familiarity with political tech or media.
