We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed—to saving space, to protecting our planet and to turning connectivity into actionable intelligence.Why this role is importantAs a Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will develop and maintain in-house and commercial flight dynamics and mission analysis software tools, and apply them to design, analyze, and operate our satellite constellations. You will engage with E-Space Guidance Navigation and Controls, Software, and Operations engineers. This position will report to the Director of GNC and will be based in our Saratoga office.What you will be doingPerform orbit determinationGenerate required products (access, eclipse, TLE, etc)Schedule resources for contactsFlight safety (collision avoidance) decision and action analysisPerform complex mission analysis and trade studiesDevelop flight operations automationAlways looking to improve the flight dynamics process and engineer new innovative methodsWhat you bring to this role5+ years of experience in space flight operations or astrodynamics software applications2+ years of software development experience in PythonStrong understanding of orbital mechanics, perturbations, navigation, and orbit propagationExtra bonus points for the followingBachelors degree Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentSalary Range$0 - $0 a yearThe estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
