Job Title: Financial Underwriter
Duration: 5 plus month with possible extension
Location: Fully Remote
Pay Range: $40-$45.00/hr
Job Duties:
The Senior Financial Underwriter computes rates for both renewing and prospective moderate to complex group Dental and Vision accounts.
You will complete work assignments involving moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The Senior Financial Underwriter reports to the Manager, Financial Underwriting. You will prepare a variety of financial reports for large accounts and provides rationale and support to other areas within the organization and to clients regarding rate computations and financial activity.
Reviews contracts and certificates, working with Product and Compliance areas to evaluate ability to match plans for takeover.
o Has strong knowledge of manual rating systems as well as how to utilize experience, provider and management reporting data in making pricing decisions.
Responsible for administrative processing of cases, utilizing various UW tools, systems and databases to complete evaluations.
Required Qualifications
o Bachelor's degree or comparable experience
o 5 or more years of underwriting Dental and Vision experience rated groups, and financial analysis/risk analysis experience
o Comprehensive understanding of risk pool management
o Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Preferred Qualifications
o Master's Degree
o Experience with other lines of group coverage, such as Life and Disability benefits
