Requirements and responsibilities

This role is to provide consulting services to one of the world’s largest active investment managers: a privately owned, long-established financial services organization with a global footprint, more than nine decades of experience, and over $3 trillion in assets under management. The organization serves individual investors, financial intermediaries, institutions, and retirement plans through research-driven investment products, risk management solutions, and advisory services. We are seeking a strategic and creative leader to drive adoption of enterprise transformation initiatives through a product and marketing mindset. Location: Remote within the United States for the initial engagement (~12 months), with an expected transition to Charlotte, NC for a longer-term opportunity, subject to mutual fit. We are not looking for a traditional change management practitioner who relies on textbook frameworks or a project manager. We are seeking an internal disruptor, visionary, and natural entrepreneur to serve as a Transformation Experience & Adoption Lead (Senior Manager Equivalent). The ideal candidate will have a startup or agency background and approach enterprise transformation through a product and marketing lens—treating employee adoption as a compelling user journey. You will act as a front-facing managing consultant and peer to leadership, stepping a baseline or two ahead of the status quo to challenge legacy ways of working. Key Responsibilities • Orchestrate Experience-Led Journeys: Turn complex corporate transformations (such as AI scaling and digital modernization) into highly engaging end-user journeys, treating change as an experience rather than a sequence of task updates. • Act as an Internal Disruptor: Challenge conventional transformation models. Drive a creative mindset across the organization to shift cultures, break through stagnation, and accelerate adoption paths. • Deliver Consultative Storytelling: Serve as a peer-level strategic advisor to executive stakeholders. Drive engagement through authentic, collaborative dialogue and rapid, compelling pitches rather than flat resume-style updates. • Build from 0 to 1: Actively architect and mature the transformation practice itself, creating frameworks and activation strategies where blueprints don't yet exist. • Design High-Impact Activation Campaigns: Build internal go-to-market strategies, utilizing audience segmentation, journey mapping, and campaign-based narratives to inspire sustained behavioral change. • Facilitate Visionary Safe Spaces: Design and lead high-impact workshops, creative events, and interactive leadership alignments that make abstract change tangible and actionable. • Measure Experiential Adoption: Define, monitor, and iterate on adoption and sentiment metrics, constantly refining campaigns based on real-world end-user feedback. Required Experience & Mindset • Consulting, Agency, or Startup Foundation: Substantial professional experience operating as a front-facing managing consultant, agency lead, or startup founder/co-founder. • Entrepreneurial Muscle: Proven track record of running a startup, a prominent side-hustle, or building a brand/practice from scratch. You must know how to market your own services and rapidly pitch concepts. • Experience & Journey Design Lens: Strong background or highly evolved thinking in product delivery, product management, or marketing strategies focused on audience experience design. • Compelling Conversational Narrative: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to naturally tell a story, engage an audience, and talk with people rather than at them. • Corporate Adaptability: Ability to navigate, respect, and influence a traditional, sometimes conservative corporate culture while effectively testing its edges. • Location Strategy: Must be residing in, or explicitly willing to live near/relocate to, the Charlotte, North Carolina area. While the initial phase offers remote flexibility, building out the physical Charlotte office culture is a strict, non-negotiable directive from leadership. Expert (The Must-Haves) • Brand Storytelling (Crucial for the narrative-driven dialogue the client wants) • Go-to-Market Strategy (GTM Strategy) (To filter for those who know how to launch and pitch ideas) • Innovation, Startup or Venture Environments (Move this up from 'Nice to have' to instantly filter out rigid corporate-only profiles) • Stakeholder Relationship Management (Table stakes for managing consultants at this tier) Proficient (The Core Mechanics) • Product Thinking / Product Strategy (Essential for building the adoption "journey") • Human-Centered Design / Experience Design (Moved up from 'Nice to have' to support the experiential mandate) • Change Adaptation (Kept here, but the client explicitly noted they don't want a standard textbook change manager) Nice to Have (The Contextual Background) • Investment Management (Great context, but the client noted they care far more about the disruptive mindset than industry background) • Agile Methodologies (Good for baseline delivery structure) • Artificial Intelligence (AI) (A typical use case they will change-manage, but not a core requirement for their skill set)
