About the Role:We are looking for a senior hands-on engineer to own and maintain a sophisticated AI platform already in production. This is not a greenfield project. You will be working on a live system used in a regulated enterprise environment, handling real scale and real complexity. You will operate autonomously, make technical decisions independently, and be the primary technical owner of the solution.What You'll Do:Maintain, improve, and extend an AI platform already running in productionHandle a mix of backend development, data engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure workTranslate business and product requirements into technical decisions independentlyWork directly with internal stakeholders and consumer teamsEstablish and maintain engineering best practices for the platformIdentify and resolve technical issues as the first line of defenseWhat You'll Bring:6+ years of hands-on engineering experience with production systemsGeneralist mindset, comfortable across backend development, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructureStrong production Python skills and solid software engineering fundamentalsHands-on experience with AWS (S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS, Bedrock, RDS or similar)Experience with analytical data pipelines (SQL, Spark) and data processing at scaleExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation)Experience with AI-assisted development workflows (Claude Code or alternatives), not just autocompleteExperience maintaining and scaling systems in production, not just building POCsAutonomous working style, you don't need a project manager to tell you what to do nextUS-based, required due to project compliance and data security constraintsNice to Have:Experience with AI/ML systems or LLM-based applicationsContainer-based deployments and Lambda optimizationDevOps or MLOps backgroundPrior consulting or professional services experienceWhat We Offer:Full ownership of a production AI platformRemote-first, fully flexible work environmentAnnual performance bonusHealth, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, unlimited PTOLong-term engagement; this role extends beyond the initial project
