Responsibilities

Reblade is a Danish tech startup founded in 2020, developing automated wind turbine blade repairs. We design and build drone-based robotic systems that utilize computer vision, sensors, and cloud software to deliver accurate and efficient operations and reporting workflows for some of the world’s largest wind energy operators. Our team consists of highly skilled engineers within robotics, mechanical engineering, control systems, embedded systems, computer vision, and software development. We have several PhDs, post-docs and a professor on the team. The majority of our employees have relocated from all over the world to Denmark, creating a strong international culture of autonomy, technical excellence, and collaborative innovation. We have a highly ambitious startup culture where everyone is a key contributor to building technology that works in the real world. The Role We are looking for a Senior Software Team Lead to lead our on-site and remote software engineers and take ownership of the technical execution of our software stack. Our systems combine UAVs, robotics, sensors, cloud services, and advanced data processing. This role ensures our software architecture remains robust, scalable, and aligned with the fast development cycles required in a deep-tech startup. You will work closely with our engineering leadership while guiding a team of highly skilled developers working across embedded systems, robotics software, and supporting applications. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who enjoys building real systems that operate in the physical world — not just software that lives in the cloud. Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate the on-site and remote software engineering team • Own the software architecture and ensure system stability and scalability • Guide development across embedded systems, robotics software, and supporting software components • Ensure high standards in code quality, version control, testing, and documentation • Work closely with hardware, robotics, and testing teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration • Identify technical risks early and lead system-level troubleshooting when needed • Plan development priorities and coordinate delivery across the team • Mentor engineers and help grow technical capability within the team • Support system debugging during development and field-testing phases • Drive efficient development practices that keep the team moving fast without unnecessary bureaucracy Required Experience and Profile Essential Requirements • 8+ years of professional software development experience • Proven experience leading software teams and coordinating distributed developers • Strong background in embedded systems, robotics software, or hardware-integrated software systems • Experience designing and maintaining complex software architectures • Experience with hardware-software integration and sensor-driven systems • Strong debugging and system troubleshooting capabilities • Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams • Excellent communication skills in an international team environment • A pragmatic mindset focused on building systems that work in the real world Nice-to-Have • Experience with UAV systems or robotics platforms • Experience with frameworks such as ArduPilot, ROS2, or similar systems • Experience working in robotics, automation, or autonomous systems • Experience leading teams in fast-moving product development environments
