POSITION OVERVIEW The Business Intelligence Reporting Lead is a technical expert responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise reporting solutions that deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights. This role requires advanced proficiency in data visualization tools, data modeling, and integration of complex data sources. The Reporting Lead will ensure reporting infrastructure scalability, maintain data integrity, and implement best practices for performance optimization. While managing a small team, this position emphasizes hands-on technical execution and innovation in BI reporting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Advanced Enterprise Reporting & Development Design and implement complex dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and Oracle Analytics Cloud. Develop and maintain data models, DAX calculations, and SQL queries to support dynamic reporting needs. Optimize ETL processes and ensure efficient data flow from multiple sources into centralized data warehouses. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality, automated reporting solutions. • Technical Architecture & Performance Optimization Oversee integration of APIs and data pipelines for real-time reporting. Implement best practices for query optimization, data refresh scheduling, and report performance tuning. Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards through robust access controls and encryption. • Data Quality & Governance Validate data accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms. Collaborate with data governance teams to enforce metadata standards and maintain a single source of truth. • Team Leadership & Technical Mentorship Lead and mentor BI developers and analysts, focusing on technical skill development and coding best practices. Set technical standards for reporting solutions and ensure adherence to development guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field. 10+ years of experience in BI development and reporting, with strong technical execution responsibilities. Expert-level proficiency in Power BI (required), including advanced DAX, data modeling, and performance tuning. Strong experience with SQL, ETL frameworks, and scripting languages such as Python for data transformation. Familiarity with cloud-based BI architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and API integrations. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, star/snowflake schemas, and relational database design. Experience with data governance tools, MDM systems, and data catalogs for enterprise data standardization. Advanced Excel skills; statistical or predictive modeling experience is a plus. Ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously and deliver under tight deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical solutions.
