Responsibilities
We are looking for a senior Android engineer who can work beyond the app layer. This involves Android applications controlling physical systems with 3D scanning, computer vision, motion control, sensors, and real hardware.
Must-haves:
- Strong Kotlin/Android experience, including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, state management, performance, and debugging.
- Hands-on hardware integration experience: USB, serial/Ethernet, sensors, controllers, vendor SDKs, JNI/NDK/C++, and real-device debugging.
- Applied 3D computer vision / geometry experience: depth or ToF cameras, point clouds, calibration, coordinate transforms, contours/masks, or 3D visualization.
- Understanding of robotics or motion-control concepts: position feedback, homing, limits, latency, stop/cancel behavior, and basic closed-loop systems.
- Strong problem-solving and system-ownership mindset. Comfortable investigating ambiguous problems, running experiments or technical spikes, and proposing practical solutions with clear tradeoffs.
Key Differentiator:
This is not a typical Android app-development role.
- You’ll work directly across software, hardware, and physical systems.
- We’re looking for someone who can move from Android code to device logs, hardware behavior, experiments, and system-level debugging.
- Experience turning prototypes into reliable, production-ready systems is highly valuable.
Nice to have:
- Experience with robotics, motion systems, or electromechanical devices.
Experience with simulators, diagnostics, or internal tools for hardware validation.
- C++/NDK/JNI experience.
- Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments.
- Strong spoken and written English.
