Carbon Direct is seeking a talented and motivated attorney with strong business acumen and commercial transactions experience to join our Legal team. The ideal candidate will partner closely with various teams to support our growing business, advising on general business and contract issues, as well as regulatory and other matters. This role requires the ability to work efficiently and independently, maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion, and work well with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: - Serve as corporate counsel to Carbon Direct’s commercial and advisory teams - Structure, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements - Contribute to the creation and maintenance of contract templates, policies, and playbooks - Help drive the company from the legal perspective, working with management and stakeholders to unblock legal hurdles - Oversee and take responsibility for regulatory matters, contracts, employment law, corporate governance, compliance, and policies related to the organization - Ensure the availability and quality of proficient, timely legal services, processes, and systems across the company - Develop creative, well-reasoned, and analyzed solutions satisfying both business and legal interests - Balance legal risk and business savvy to move forward with decisions that make sense - Contribute to legal strategy, company priorities, and team development
