About SDL: SDL provides cloud-based software solutions to local governments, aiming to make our communities better places to live and work. As a mission-driven company, SDL is committed to creating impactful technology that serves the public good. We are looking for team members who take pride in their work and seek to consistently improve themselves, their skills, and their knowledge. If this sounds like you–and the type of work environment where you’d thrive–we hope you’ll join us! We offer flexible remote work options and are primarily based in the US East Coast time zone. You do not have to relocate to join SDL! The Position: You will be joining our engineering group as a valued member of a small high performing agile team: - Making meaningful contributions to the overall infrastructure, including participating in architecture decisions and technical direction for deployment and automation. - Employing best practices when it comes to infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and developer experience related to deployment. - Participating in code reviews related to infrastructure changes and automation scripts to ensure the codebase is maintained to a high standard. - We are early in our deployment of several best practices including automation. If rolling-up your sleeves to build a quality program you always dreamed of is attractive to you, we will be a great fit. What This Job Can Offer You: - Complex and meaningful challenges — solving them will make our communities better places to live and work - Opportunity to have a significant impact on the business — you will be a senior member of a small high impact team. - A lot of freedom to organize your work and life — we focus on impact and results, not complicated bureaucracy and unnecessarily rigid standards. - Competitive salary, unlimited PTO and a set of perks and benefits. - A supportive work environment where you can grow and challenge yourself to do your best work. What You Bring: - You have prior experience as a senior or staff DevOps engineer or in a similarly senior role, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that have enabled you to work effectively and successfully with agile teams in the past. - Track record of applying DevOps best practices and bringing new approaches to a team. A desire to work with new technologies, with the hard-earned wisdom to make good decisions regarding technology adoption for deployment and automation. - Proven experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (GCP). What Makes You Stand Out: - Experience at an enterprise SaaS company, particularly one that implements CI/CD and deploys early and often. - Deep knowledge and familiarity with GCP. - Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security best practices. - Strong grasp of automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash), and experience applying them to real-world situations. - Prior startup experience. Practicals: - You'll report to: VP Engineering or CTO - Location: Colombia - Start date: As soon as possible - What We Offer: Competitive salary. - Flexible working hours and remote work. - Professional development opportunities and learning budget. - Home office and IT budget. - Supportive team environment. - The chance to work on innovative projects with cutting-edge technologies.
