Requirements and responsibilities

Role Overview: - We are looking for a fractional Business Development Representative to generate qualified conversations with independent healthcare providers, including behavioral health practices, community clinics, dental practices, and PT/rehab/ABA clinics, who are experiencing slow payer reimbursement. - This is not a generic cold-calling role; you will have real conversations about payer mix, reimbursement timelines, and practice cash flow. Responsibilities: - Conduct 30–50 outreach touches per week via email, LinkedIn, and phone to independent healthcare practice owners and administrators. - Research target practices before reaching out, focusing on payer mix, size, specialty, and likely pain points. - Qualify interest and book discovery calls onto the CEO and Founder calendar. - Track outreach and outcomes in our CRM and pipeline tool. - Report weekly on volume, response rates, and bookings. Qualifications: - Real, first-hand healthcare sales or operating experience is strongly preferred. - Ideal backgrounds include former representatives at healthcare fintech, RCM, EHR, or practice management companies, former healthcare RCM professionals, former medical practice administrators or office managers, or healthcare management consultants with provider-facing experience. - We require demonstrated fluency in payer dynamics rather than just a resume line. Screening Questions: - Explain the difference between a receivable purchase and a loan in a healthcare context. - A practice administrator tells you they do not have a cash flow problem but a billing problem; explain what they mean and how that changes your pitch. - Walk us through what happens to a claim between the day a patient is seen and the day the practice has usable cash, including where it stalls and why. - Name one thing that would make you not recommend Stream to a practice, even though they are feeling cash-strapped. Trial and Logistics: - Shortlisted candidates will complete a paid test involving researching five practice names and drafting personalized outreach emails. - The position is remote, with a preference for DC/MD/VA area candidates. - The commitment is 10–15 hours per week on a month-to-month contract basis. - Compensation is $25–$40 per hour based on experience, plus performance-based bonuses.
