I'm the eldest of two pediatricians who should never be anyone's physician. But I spent all of my career inside the beast that is U.S. healthcare — payer strategy at CareFirst, product and partnerships at digital health startups, public health leadership and board service. Here's the pain I kept seeing from every seat: providers doing good work...and then waiting. Sixty days. Ninety. Sometimes longer. Not because the money wasn't earned — because the system that owes it moves slowly, and there's rarely anything a provider can do about it but wait. I started Stream Technologies to close that gap without asking providers to take on debt to do it. Because Stream is not a lender. The distinction that matters: Stream buys earned, contracted receivables — invoices, insurance claims, grants — as a true sale. No loan. No personal guarantee. No liabilities hanging out on the balance sheet. The work is done, and someone has already agreed to pay; we just don't make you wait for it. We work with independent healthcare and social-determinants-of-health providers — behavioral health practices, dental groups, PT and rehab clinics, clinical trial sites, nonprofits — who'd rather get paid in days than take on financing to bridge a gap that shouldn't exist in the first place. They'd rather not keep putting off growth and mission by waiting on someone else's timeline. Speed of trust, not speed of debt. That's the whole idea. If you're a provider watching your cash sit in someone else's queue, or you work with organizations who are, I'd love to talk. You can find us at hello@getstream.co.
