About SpotterLabs: SpotterLabs is a fast-growing U.S.-based technology company building AI- and algorithm-driven systems for the transportation industry. Role Overview: We are looking for a Backend Django Engineer who enjoys designing clean APIs, building scalable backend systems, and solving complex business problems through software. You will work with a distributed international team and own backend features from architecture and data modeling through deployment and iteration. Bonus Opportunity: Successful candidates who progress through our assessment process may qualify for a $100 assessment completion bonus. Qualified candidates will be invited to complete the assessment process. What You Will Do: - Design and build backend services using Python and Django. - Develop REST APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF) or similar frameworks. - Design scalable database schemas and data models. - Implement algorithmic and AI-driven business logic. - Optimize application performance and database queries. - Build reliable, production-ready systems. - Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship features quickly. - Contribute to technical architecture and engineering best practices. Required Skills: Must-Have: - Python. - Django. - PostgreSQL. - REST API Development. - Database Design. - SQL. - Git. Nice-to-Have: - Django REST Framework (DRF). - Redis. - Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Docker. - Kubernetes. - Algorithm Design. - AI/ML Product Experience.
