POSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for a skilled Epic Analyst with Beaker expertise for supporting the configuration, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our laboratory and clinical EMR systems. You will work cross-functionally with clinical, operational, and technical teams to ensure Epic Beaker workflows are built accurately, integrations run seamlessly, and end-users are set up for success. Strong performers will be considered for conversion to a full-time permanent role at the conclusion of the contract period. This is a fully remote role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Beaker Configuration & Optimization Own Epic Beaker build and configuration, including compendium management, order setup, and result routing Analyze laboratory workflows and translate operational requirements into accurate system design Identify and resolve gaps in data mapping, compendium build, and workflow configuration Drive continuous optimization of Beaker workflows based on user feedback and system performance metrics Implementation & Go-Live Support Support end-to-end Epic implementations from discovery and design through go-live and stabilization Develop and maintain project documentation including configuration workbooks, test scripts, and go-live checklists Proactively surface risks and blockers; coordinate resolution with internal teams and stakeholders Contribute to implementation playbooks to support scalable, repeatable deployments Integrations & Interoperability Partner with engineering teams to support Epic Aura and Care Everywhere integrations Work with HL7, FHIR, and API-based integrations to ensure data integrity across connected systems Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues during implementation and post-go-live phases Training & Documentation Build and deliver training for clinical, laboratory, and technical end-users Create and maintain SOPs, workflow diagrams, tip sheets, and knowledge base content Provide hands-on post-go-live support to drive adoption and resolve issues quickly Compliance & Continuous Improvement Ensure all configurations and workflows meet HIPAA, PHI, and data security requirements Monitor system performance and coordinate with product and engineering teams on enhancements QUALIFICATIONS Required Epic Beaker certification (active or eligible to obtain) 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT – EMR/EHR implementation, LIS, or technical project support Hands-on experience with Epic Aura and/or Care Everywhere Solid understanding of HL7, FHIR, and API-based interoperability standards Working knowledge of HIPAA and PHI compliance requirements Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field Preferred Experience in clinical laboratory or genetics/genomics environments Familiarity with LIS platforms and precision medicine workflows Experience supporting multi-site or enterprise-scale Epic deployments SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Deep hands-on knowledge of Epic Beaker and laboratory workflow design Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration and configuration issues Clear communicator – comfortable presenting technical details to both clinical and non-technical stakeholders Highly organized; able to manage competing priorities across concurrent workstreams Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments WORK ENVIRONMENT Fully remote with availability for go-live support and milestone events Primarily sedentary with frequent use of computers and technical documentation Minimal travel may be required for on-site implementations or training sessions
