Requirements and responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Java Developer with extensive experience in enterprise application development, backend services, and API engineering. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems while collaborating within Agile teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend services and REST APIsDeliver features aligned with prioritized product backlog itemsParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, story sizing, and retrospectivesCreate automated tests and validate functionality against acceptance criteriaCollaborate with engineering, QA, infrastructure, and security teamsSupport production readiness, troubleshooting, and platform enhancementsContribute to scalable, secure, and maintainable backend architectureFollow coding standards and engineering best practicesRequired Skills & Qualifications7+ years of backend software engineering experienceStrong expertise in Java enterprise application developmentHands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL or other relational databasesExperience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsStrong background in Unit Testing, Test Automation, and TDDUnderstanding of iterative software delivery methodologiesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Kotlin and/or GroovyExperience supporting Supply Chain, WMS, or OMS platformsExperience with Manhattan Associates solutions (WMS, WMOS, Active, OMS)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deploymentsExposure to cloud-native application developmentKey TechnologiesJava | Spring Boot | REST APIs | PostgreSQL | Agile/Scrum | TDD | Test Automation | Kotlin | Groovy | CI/CDInterview Process: 2 RoundsCandidates may be asked to share their screen during interviews as part of the assessment process.MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: We are ONLY considering candidates who are former employees of Target.
