But today, the technology which powers them — is broken. The existing suite of software is clunky, difficult to use, faces regular outages, and offers poor support.We’re changing that.Kenko is the most complete software for fitness & wellness businesses. We bring together scheduling, memberships, payments, marketing, payroll — everything on one platform and automate it. Our goal is to replace ten different tools they use today with one almighty.So that they can focus on what they love — making people healthy and happy.At Kenko, engineering is more than just writing code. We are a highly analytical team that along with the drive to jump over technical barriers, also loved to build creative solutions for our customers.ResponsibilitesTranslate business requirements into a scalable, multi-tenant data model.Build and maintain dbt pipelines for data transformation.Develop Airflow DAGs to orchestrate and monitor ETL workflows.Optimize Redshift (or chosen warehouse) for query performance and cost efficiency.Implement and maintain CDC pipelines for near real-time synchronization.Utilize Snowflake or Apache Iceberg for scalable data warehousing.Leverage AWS services (DMS, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3) to support data infrastructure.Implement data quality checks, lineage documentation, and SLA-based alerting.Enforce data governance, security, and compliance (GDPR/CCPA).Collaborate with backend, frontend, and product teams to align data solutions.Mentor junior engineers on SQL, and data modeling best practices.What you'll need3+ years of experience in a Data Engineering or related role, with a focus on building data pipelinesA strong engineering background and a clear passion for data and analyticsAbility to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiencesAn inquisitive nature in diving into data inconsistencies to pinpoint issuesExperience with AWS cloud platformFluency in SQLExperience with Snowflake (a bonus), dbt, Redshift, or BigQueryAt least one analytics/BI tool such as Tableau/ Looker/ GoodDataThe ability to communicate cross-functionally, derive requirements and architect shared datasetsOur history and backgroundOur leadership team has worked at elite organizations and startups like JP Morgan, Uber, Shiprocket, BrowserStack, and MagicPin; and is passionate about making physical and mental health more accessible.We have raised over $3.2 million in venture capital from Antler; founder of FusionCharts (Pallav Nadhani); and leaders from companies like Meta, Gitlab, Freshworks & CleverTap.We are excited to open up more seats in this rocket ship!AI disclaimerWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
