As the Bar Manager and Craft Cocktail Visionary at The Exchange, a sophisticated whiskey and craft cocktail bar located in South Bend, Indiana, and Mass Ave in Indianapolis, you oversee all bar operations and serve as the main point of contact for guests. We offer relocation if needed. Your role involves creating seasonal craft cocktails, selling and preparing beverages, managing bar maintenance, guiding guests through menus, ensuring guest satisfaction, and overseeing inventory. A pleasant and professional demeanor, extensive mixology knowledge, and the ability to lead a diverse team are crucial for success in this position. Main responsibilities: - Ensure compliance with procedures, standards, and regulations, operating in alignment with company values. - Operationalize the company's operating system, leading key meetings, and driving issue resolution. - Provide responsive, gracious service, creating personal connections with guests. - Craft cocktails, guide guests in decision-making, and maintain clean workstations. Take orders, answer inquiries, and coordinate with other staff for seamless service. - Identify areas for improvement and offer positive solutions for change. - Monitor buying trends and eliminate unnecessary items behind the bar. - Lead design of new seasonal cocktail concepts and manage bar inventory. - Develop bar staff, serve as a mentor, and provide continuous training. - Analyze metrics, review sales reports, and ensure financial information accuracy. - Set and achieve budgeted sales and profit levels, optimizing bar profitability. - Operate POS system and handle transactions accurately. Physical Demands: - Carry trays and lift supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. - Maintain mobility and balance during the entire shift. Requirements: - Prior bar management experience. - Basic math skills. - Proven mastery in crafting cocktails, serving wine, and guiding guest choices. Proficient in upselling techniques, responsible serving, and bar management, including inventory tracking and ordering. - Must successfully complete restaurants training program. - Demonstrates accountability by taking responsibility for work activities and personal actions, follows through on commitments, maintains confidentiality, learns from mistakes, and recognizes the impact of one's behaviour. - Collaboration/Teamwork, effective and efficient communication, conflict resolution, customer focus, financial acumen.
