We are a certified B Corporation and a Top Workplace for 7 consecutive years.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is seeking an experienced quantitative researcher to serve as Senior Data Scientist in our Audience Analytics for Healthy Communities division (AA4HC), which applies data science and research to create actionable insights and plan and optimize communication campaigns, primarily national campaigns for federal clients. The division uses applied data architecture, programming, data visualization, GIS mapping, and statistical modeling to segment audiences and reach them efficiently and effectively.​ We also combine data from disparate sources into interactive dashboards to facilitate campaign management, optimization, and reporting. The selected individual will conduct data analysis, infrastructure, and visualization as part of projects to identify, understand, and track audiences for public education campaigns including tobacco/nicotine education campaigns. This will include coordinating with internal teams and vendors to integrate campaign media data into campaign performance dashboards. This person will provide technical guidance and coordinate the completion of project tasks and deliverables across teams and team members, upholding high standards for the team to exceed client expectations.Responsibilities include:Data engineering, including developing scripts to automate advertising analytics/survey data cleaning and process reviews using ETL/ELT pipelines with medallion architecture (Python and R)Building and maintaining data visualizations for data exploration and trend analysis using Tableau and PowerBI dashboards.Conduct data analysis to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and shape actionable insights (including reports, presentations, and models). This includes descriptive reporting, casual inference, segmentation, and predictive modeling.Regular client interactions, such as presentations, reports, and status meetings to develop and refine data solutions to meet client needs, report on project progress, and share results.Ongoing communication with vendors and internal communication campaign teams to represent findings, coordinate next steps, navigate joint decision-making, and discuss potential implicationsWorking in a collaborative team environment to logically design communication campaigns based on data.Qualifications:At least 5 years’ relevant experience with data science, segmentation, or communications planningMaster’s degree in social science, data science, public health, statistics, marketing or related field. PHD preferredProficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similarExperience in working with Cloud computing servers (e.g. AWS) and data and data science related services (e.g., RDS, S3, SageMaker).Expertise in PythonProficiency in R and SQLExperience using database and ETL systems to query and extract data using medallion architectureData science experienced including supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised models; generalized linear/additive models; mixed models; random forest; clustering techniques; Bayesian approaches; cross-validation and model performance evaluationExperience working with large, complex, and nuanced datasetsSuperior verbal and written communications skillsApplicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive informationA collaborative, problem-solving mindsetCuriosity, flexibility, and a desire to learnPreferred Qualifications:Applied experience with communications, media, or advertisingExperience with audience segmentation and proficiency in commercial segmentation (e.g., MRI-Simmons, Nielsen, Claritas)Proficiency in GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS)Knowledge of marketing metrics, marketing principles and terminologyExperience working with government public health agencies such as HHS, FDA, CDC, CMS, or statistical agencies like Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, or Bureau of Economic Affairs.We Offer:Our benefits typically meet or exceed our competitors’ packages.
