Requirements and responsibilities

What Cedar becomes in the next five years will be determined in large part by decisions made at the data layer right now.We are hiring a Principal Data Architect & Engineer — and I want to be direct about what this role actually is.Cedar has built a platform that processes $3.5 billion in patient payments annually across 55+ health systems. The product works, and the business is healthy. What we are building toward — AI-driven personalisation at scale, deeper interoperability, a financial experience that adapts to each patient in real time — requires data infrastructure that does not yet exist in the form we need it.This role is not maintenance. It is the architecture and engineering work that makes Cedar's next chapter possible. The person who takes it will design systems that the entire product suite builds on, make foundational decisions that compound over years, and operate with the kind of ownership that is only possible at a company of this size and ambition.Principal level. High autonomy. Direct impact on product direction. If you are an engineer who thinks carefully about what systems need to become — not just what they need to do today — I would like to connect.
