Requirements and responsibilities
Duties:
- Selects, picks, packages, and labels medications and ancillary supplies per prescription, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with the guidelines and pharmacy laws.
- Accurate counting of medications utilizing a manual process as well as any automated counting devices.
- Exercise proper hand sanitization and hazardous medication handling practices.
- Performs functions and/or responsibilities of an Operations Assistant (packer - 20% of the week) as needed.
- Responsible for preparing and/or restocking the filling station with medications and/or supplies as needed.
- Responsible for cleaning all pill counting devices/equipment and general working areas.
Experience:
- Minimum one year experience required in a customer service position with high volume call center experience, preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar service position.
Position Summary:
- Must be able to lift 50-70 pounds (medications, ice box when packing) 5-10% of the workday.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for several hours at a time.
- This position could be physically demanding.
Education:
- Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
- CA active pharmacy tech license (certification is not acceptable).
Work Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
- Friday: 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM.
