Requirements and responsibilities
Experience: 4 to 7 years.
Professional Experience:
- Proven experience with a large-scale implementation of Hyperion Essbase and Planning version 11 or higher.
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications.
- Strong understanding of ASO and BSO cube development.
- Experience working on Windows and a Unix/Linux platform.
- Knowledge of writing basic SQLs.
- Experience with Smart View, web forms and reports, MaxL, and Unix shell scripting.
- Oracle Relational Database experience is a plus.
- Deep functional and technical knowledge of financial systems and business processes, especially around planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Responsible for creating, documenting, and implementing scalable solution design and implementation plans.
- Preparation of key deliverables such as requirements documents, design documents, test plans, training materials, and solution delivery.
- Supervise, develop, and mentor junior consultants throughout project life cycles.
- Apply structured knowledge to solve problems, break down issues, and identify solutions.
Technical Skills:
- Develops and maintains an Essbase reporting environment and reports in Smart View for an Enterprise Finance Analytics environment.
- Provides technical and functional support.
- Makes necessary changes in the data layer and creates or modifies the reports per user requirements.
- Builds repositories and data models for Essbase applications and manages the data loads and periodical maintenance processes.
- Assists in continuing improvements to the overall usability, scalability, reliability, and performance of the data warehousing environment.
- Utilize Best Practice BI Implementation Practices.
- At least 2 to 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining BI infrastructure and reports in Hyperion in Essbase applications, preferably with version 11.1.2.4.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the scope of database design and database management.
- Must have experience with the latest releases of Essbase 11.1.2.2, 11.1.2.3, or 11.1.2.4.
- Experience with Hyperion Planning, including ASO and BSO cubes, is a must.
- Familiar with the Hyperion Product Suite, including Essbase Administration Services, Shared Services, Essbase Studio, EPM Workspace, Financial Reporting, Hyperion Data Relationship Manager, and Smart View.
- Experience with security for Planning and Essbase users, groups, and dimensions and administer access.
- Experience with batch scripting, shell scripting in Unix, automation using MaxL, Visual Basic, and other scripting languages.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Demonstrated skills building and managing a reporting environment.
